Celebrating 20 Years of Great Glen Stoves

This year marks an incredible milestone for us at Great Glen Stoves – 20 years in business. As we celebrate this special anniversary, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the journey that has brought us here and, most importantly, to thank every customer, colleague, family member and friend who has been part of our story.

It all began in 2006, when Tom started out with nothing more than a van, a passion for quality craftsmanship, and one employee by his side. From those early days, Tom built an enviable reputation throughout the Highlands for exceptional workmanship, honest advice, and a genuine commitment to doing every job properly. Word soon spread, and with it came growing demand from customers looking not only for expert installation but also for a wider range of fireplaces and stoves.

That demand inspired the next exciting chapter. In 2012, Tom took a leap of faith and opened the doors to the Great Glen Stoves showroom alongside his wife, Jenny, and his father-in-law, Chris. Our showroom gave customers across the Highlands the opportunity to see, compare and choose from an ever-growing collection of premium stoves and fireplaces, all backed by the trusted advice and expertise that had become our hallmark.

As the business continued to grow, so did our team. Tom personally trained our in-house installation specialists, ensuring every customer received the same high standards of workmanship that the business was built upon. Today, we’re proud to have a team of 10 dedicated professionals – five experienced installers Marius, Jim, Neil, Grant & Martin and five knowledgeable showroom staff Tom, Jenny, Chris, Sarah & Katie– all sharing the same passion for quality and outstanding customer service.

Like many businesses, the lockdown years presented challenges, but they also gave us the opportunity to invest in our future. We completely transformed our showroom with a new roof, new windows and a full interior renovation, creating the beautiful space you see today. Our showroom has become a true destination for customers across the Highlands, offering inspiration, expert advice and an exceptional selection of products in a welcoming environment.

Over the years, we’ve continued to expand what we offer. We’re proud to work with some of the industry’s leading brands, including Contura, Chesneys, Stovax /Gazco, DRU and many more, allowing us to provide beautiful heating solutions to suit every home and style.

Our passion for craftsmanship has also led us into exciting new areas. We now offer professional stone-cutting services for bespoke hearths, bathroom vanity tops, along with premium stone cladding in Dekton and granite. Alongside our stoves and fireplaces, we’ve carefully curated a collection of luxurious home accessories, from beautifully soft sheepskin rugs to handcrafted forged candlesticks, helping our customers create warm, inviting spaces they truly love.

Looking back over the last two decades, we’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come—from one van and a small installation business to a thriving showroom and skilled team serving customers across the Highlands. Yet one thing has never changed: our commitment to honest advice, exceptional quality and treating every customer’s home with the care and respect it deserves.

To mark this very special 20-year milestone, we’ve also embraced an exciting new chapter for Great Glen Stoves. We’ve refreshed our brand with a new logo and commissioned a brand-new website that better reflects who we are today and the values we’ve built our business upon. As we’ve grown and evolved, we wanted our brand to do the same—showcasing not only the quality products and services we offer, but also our passion for craftsmanship, design and exceptional customer care. It’s a celebration of how far we’ve come, while looking ahead with confidence and excitement to the future as we continue to inspire homes across the Highlands for many years to come.
